Local Attractions
Chiltern is a popular place for people interested in birdwatching, due to it’s unique location on the edge of two different habitats - the foothill forests of the Great Dividing Range and the woodlands of the Box and Red Gum Plains. Over 220 bird species have been recorded in and around this area, with the Chiltern Box-Ironbark National Forest home to the rare Regent Honeyeater and Swift Parrot. For more information on birdwatching in the Chiltern area, visit http://home.iprimus.com.au/focbinp.

The Lake Anderson Caravan Park is only 5 minutes walk from the centre of Chiltern and close to many local activities and historical attractions. Within a short walk of the caravan park you’ll find swimming, tennis, lawn bowls, golf and fishing. A stroll down Conness and Main Streets will bring you to antique shops and a number of historical attractions such as the Star Theatre, the Athenaeum, and Dow’s Pharmacy.

The surrounding Chiltern Box-Ironbark National Forest provides delightful bushwalking and cycling opportunities, while further afield is the extensive Rutherglen Wine Region, with wineries open for tasting 7 days a week, and the historic town of Beechworth.

Special Guests
Every now and then a special guest arrives at our caravan park. Our latest guest arrived unannounced and decided the cabins were not to his liking, choosing a comfortable fork in a tree instead... for a better view of the lake, maybe?

After a look around the place, checking out our facilities, he wandered off for an explore of the local area.
